Tubby’s Burger

Serves 4

Ingredients: 

4 seeded brioche buns 

500g beef or ostrich mince 

Juicy red steak tomatoes 

Tablespoon mayonnaise

Tablespoon tomato sauce 

Fresh slices of raw onion 

Roma lettuce 

Cheese slice of choice 

  Tubbys CBD Olive Oil 

Two tablespoons butter

Fresh thyme 

Fresh cloves of garlic (whole cloves) peeled 

Extra’s:

Tubby’s fire dance Chilli paste 

Method:

  • Prep the burger patties by taking the minced meat and forming into four patties. press down with paper towels to remove excess moisture
  • Cover generously in salt and freshly ground pepper top and bottom of patty and leave in fridge for ten to twenty minutes
  • Heat the olive oil and butter in a pan over a medium high heat, add the garlic and thyme and make sure to not let them burn. 
  • After simmering them in the oil for 1-2 minutes, place your burger patties in the pan and gently press them down into the pan with a spatula 
  • Fry for about 4-5 minutes each side
  • While the patties are frying, carefully use a spoon to pick up the butter and oil and pour it over the top of the patty repeat this on both sides 
  • Once cooked, transfer to a plate and let rest four a minute or two with the cheese slice on top 
  • Slice the brioche buns in half and prep your toppings
  • Slice the onion and tomatoes and gently break up the lettuce leaves 
  • Mix tomato sauce and mayonnaise to create burger sauce (add Tubby’s Fire Dance chilli paste for extra OOMF)
  • Take the buns and dip into the oil and meat drippings and toast under the oven grill for a minute or two
  • Assemble the burger just the way you like and serve with your choice of chips!
